To pass Goethe A1:
Overall score: 60/100 points minimum

Oral part (Speaking): minimum 15/25 points
Important: You must pass BOTH written and oral sections. If you only pass one, you don't get the certificate.
On Test Day
What to bring:
Valid ID (passport or national ID)
Pens (blue or black ink)
Exam confirmation (if provided)
What NOT to bring:
Phone (must be turned off and stored)
Dictionary
Notes or study materials
Most Common Mistakes by Section
Reading: Running out of time — don't read every word, scan for key information
Listening: Panicking after first listen — remember you hear everything twice
Writing: Writing too little — the form section is easy points, don't skip fields
Speaking: Memorizing scripts — examiners notice and it sounds unnatural. Practice real conversation instead
It depends on your exam center. Some Goethe-Institut locations return results within 2-3 weeks, while external centers may take up to 6 weeks. Ask your center when you register.
